Waterford, NY - The start of the Erie Canal

We left Kingston in nice weather continuing our way north on the Hudson river. Our destination, Waterford, NY and the beginning of the Erie Canal. It was a very nice 8 knt crusing speed and we eventually caught up with some other "loopers" we met in Kingston. We stayed with the "Myra Marie" and the "Laurie Jean" all the way to Waterford.

Kim got her morning work out in!

Coming in to Albany. That the "Laurie Jean" ahead of us.

Mornig walk - looking across the Hudson.

That small sign above me marks the water level from tropical storm Irene in August, 2011.
We lost our previous boat, Mentor in that storm.

We enjoyed a nice picnic on Peeble Island today. It was a short walk across the bridge we are under.

This was a huge Willow tree ... like 4 trees in one.
Look close in the middle ... it's Mr Luke!

He had such a great time at the park! One happy pup!

You see all kinds and sizes boats doing the loop!

Another great day ....

Our log from our cruise from Kingston to Waterford

Sunday, June 17th - Fathers Day we begin traveling the Erie Canal - 5 locks in the first 2 miles and we go up 160 feet!
