Brooklyn

After a great day cruising from Branford, CT we arrived at NYC (New York City .... not Newburyport Yacht Club!!!). The trip was about 65 miles and took us 6 1/2 hours. Seas were about 2 feet with the wind to our back so the ride wasn't bad.

So many bridges!

Manhattan

Lady Liberty ... so cool to see up-close from the water

 Brooklyn Bridge

 Spectacular!

Manhattan - World Trade One building on the left

 Ellis Island

Manhattan as seen from Liberty State Park. This park is beautiful and massive!

Luke enjoying some real grass! He's still not a fan of the AstroTurf on the boat.

The Abandoned (but accessible) Rail Station at Liberty State Park. An easily accessible glimpse into New York and New Jersey's industrial past is through the abandoned Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal in Liberty State Park.

 The park is SO BIG!

Hard to get a better view of NYC!

Our view from the Liberty House Restaurant as the sun was setting on the city.

It was a great day ... a wonderful evening.

We are staying here until Wednesday to get a few things done on the boat and some sight seeing. Going to take the ferry over to Lower Manhattan and visit Ground Zero and walk around the city.

Wednesday we will start our trip up the Hudson River!

Here is a 7 min time lapse video of going through the entire East River
